In January 2000, INCOSE published the Strategic Directions Document, highlighting the key accomplishments we hoped to achieve in the next several years in five areas (1) Influence, (2) Advancement, (3) Diversification, (4) Growth, and (5) Organizational Effectiveness.  The document was re-validated and updated in April 2002 and has since continued to evolve as INCOSE's Long Range Plan.

To highlight progress against plan, INCOSE completes an annual assessment of progress against the plan. Each segment is assessed as blue (effort/progress exceeded expected/planned initiatives), green (effort/progress met expected/planned initiatives), or red (effort/progress was less than planned/expected).
