May 18 The
Russian’s are Coming
Description:
There will be a Russian delegation in town for the Russian Inspection Program
during the week of May 16. This is an annual inspection, organized through NNSA,
where the Russian delegation inspects the SRS reactors to make sure no plutonium
is being processed. A similar delegation is sent from here to Russia as well.
ANS has invited us to join them and the Russian delegation (and possibly other
societies) in a joint dinner meeting on Wednesday, May 18. During the meeting,
each society would give a 5-10 minute presentation on who they are and what they
do, which would be shown in English as well as Russian. NNSA will also give a
presentation about the Russian Inspection Program. ANS is trying to get the
Russian delegation to make a small presentation as well. In the past, they try
to sit 2 Russians + 1 translator at each table, so there is good mixing between
us & them.

May 11
University of Alabama – Huntsville (UAH) is coming to Dinner
There will be no formal presentation,
but you will have a chance to talk with Dr. Farrington and Dr. Utley about what
UAH has to offer, network with classmates, or just meet the professors for the
first time.
This is a joint activity
with the American Society of Engineering Management (ASEM)

Come join the fun! ASME,
AIChE, and INCOSE are co-sponsoring a joint society picnic...
