Meeting scheduled for June 11, 2008. Will preview two INCOSE 2008 Symposium
Papers and announce a new book from a local chapter member. |

The first meeting for the Science Enablers of Systems Engineering Special
Interest Group (SESE SIG) will be held on May 14th. The meeting is open to
all interested Lockheed Martin personnel and all members of the Delaware
Valley Chapter. The purpose of the SIG is to explore current and emerging
scientific theories that can be applied to Systems Engineering |

The plan is to meet at Boeing on Tuesday April 15th, and Gnana has suggested
the title Social System Modeling and Systems Engineering. Also a new
SIG will be announced: Science Enablers for System Engineering.
The SIG will explore topics such as complexity and complex systems, swarming,
autonomous agents, evolution, etc.; and will review discoveries in areas
outside of engineering such as physics, biology, sociology, etc. in order
to determine how to leverage these to improve systems engineering processes,
architectures, and designs. |

Dinner meeting with two guest speakers. INCOSE DV 2008 Election Ballot
will be discussed prior to the presentations. |

meeting. Walt Sobkiw, Systems Architect at L-3 Communications, will deliver
the second of two presentations for the Thursday evening program.

next program / meeting of the DV Chapter will be held April 12th
(note this will be a Thursday meeting). The session will be at Boeing,
(Building 3-04) Philadelphia Site, Rotorcraft Division, Integrated Defense
Systems (IDS). Details on the program theme, speakers, etc. will be posted
on this site within the week and also emailed to the Chapter membership list.

Results:
Stanley P. Stanilka was elected Vice-President/President-Elect
last year, and will therefore serve as Chapter President in 2007.

Next Chapter Meeting:
The next meeting date is TBD, but
the location will be at the Boeing, Philadelphia Site, Rotorcraft Division,
Integrated Defense Systems (IDS). The tentative program topic is
"Systems
Engineering for Aircraft Systems Safety".
