Defense Acquisition Guidebook (DAG) Reference for the CSEP Acquisition Extension

The United States Department of Defense (DoD) Defense Acquisition Guidebook (DAG) Chapter 4 is the basis for the INCOSE Acquisition extension (CSEP-Acq) examination. The version currently used as the basis is Version 1.5, dated November 2004. Effective 8 December 2008, a new DoD Instruction 5000.02 has been issued. It cancels DoD Instruction 5000.2, dated 12 May 2003. Correspondingly, the DAG is in revision to reflect the new DoDI 5000.02. Until further notice, the basis for the INCOSE Acquisition extension remains the November 2004 version of the DAG Chapter 4. PDF versions of the entire November 2004 DAG and DAG Chapter 4 are included on this website as the official reference for the INCOSE Acquisition extension.

After the official release of the updated DAG, INCOSE will announce a transition path to the updated DAG and the updated Acquisition extension examination. Until then, all candidates preparing for the Acquisition extension should use the version of the DAG provided on this website.
