Guest Speaker and Luncheon on June 30

The Chapter is hosting a guest speaker on Wednesday, June 30, at 1130, in Building 1, Conference Room 204. The guest speaker is Mr. Mike Hackett who will be giving a presentation on the New RFP Guidance for Systems Engineering developed by AAC. Lunch will be provided.

Please feel free to invite your fellow systems engineers who may be interested in INCOSE activities.

The AAC SE RFP Guide was developed to encourage and enforce the use of robust Systems Engineering processes and practices within industry on AAC Government contracts. The intent of the Guide is to document language that captures Systems Engineering best practices and aligns with current DoD, AF, AFMC, and AAC policy and guidance, as well as statues and federal regulations. Program offices would be expected to tailor the language found in the Guide for each RFP and contract. The focus is on program activities supporting the Systems Requirement Review in the Technology Development phase (Risk Reduction) through the Engineering and Manufacturing Development phase.

INCOSE Meeting - March 10, 2010 - Eglin AFB

On March 10, 2010, from 1130 to 1300, INCOSE is sponsoring a lunchtime talk on systems engineering. It will be held on Eglin AFB in Building 1, Room 204. Pizza will be provided.

Mr. Mike Anspach will be presenting "The New Manufacturing Readiness Assessment Process".

(Please note that this talk will only be open to government and government support contractors).

Your INCOSE Emerald Coast Chapter will sponsor another Systems Engineering Briefing and lunch event at Eglin AFB, Bldg. 1, Conf Room 204 from 1115-1230 on 9 Dec 09. This event is open and FREE to you AND non-members who might be interested in INCOSE. Please plan on attending and BRING AN ENGINEERING BUDDY!

The luncheon topic is titled, "Overview of the Air Force Center for Systems Engineering and what it can do for you." and will be presented by Mr. George Mooney. The AF Center for Systems Engineering is an AF level directorate that was established in 2004 to be a center of excellence within the AF for systems engineering. The Center conceptualizes new processes, practices, tools, and resources for systems engineering through research, education, and consultation. This research, education, and consultation are available to engineers throughout the world, but with an emphasis on DOD systems engineering topics and issues. Mr. Mooney will describe the Center�s resources available to you, including systems engineering case studies, research, consultation and distance learning opportunities. All this and a free lunch in about an hour!

Your INCOSE Emerald Coast Chapter will sponsor another Systems Engineering Briefing and lunch event at Eglin AFB, Bldg. 349, Conf Room 616 from 1115-1230 on 29 Sep 09. This event is open and FREE to you AND non-members who might be interested in INCOSE. Please plan on attending and BRING AN ENGINEERING BUDDY!

We will mingle a little and then I'll quickly share with you plans for our FY10 INCOSE chapter elections. This will be a great opportunity to network with other engineers who are active in systems engineering activities and learn more about INCOSE. I will be followed by Rachel with a short briefing on education volunteer opportunities. Finally, Greg Hutto, Wing OA for the 46th Test Wing. Greg is a proponent of Design of Experiments (DOE) in today�s Air Force and has nearly 20 years experience teaching, practicing, promoting, and growing DOE users. His briefing will focus on the many challenges faced by systems engineers � developing system requirements/capabilities via combat or systems simulations; crafting robust, producible, affordable, effective machines that meet requirements; and testing design prototypes to verify they will perform as desired. Military systems or cell phones, these challenges face systems engineers around the world. Greg's talk will address these systems engineering problems and the solutions to them found in the DOE. Myths abound concerning the capabilities and limitations of this field and Greg will address these myths during this talk. A hands-on system test problem will complete the discussion. All this and a free pizza lunch in about an hour!
