INCOSE Lunch Meeting, Thursday 15 Nov 07 at 11:30 AM (B349, Rm 616)

INCOSE is hosting a lunch and learn on Thursday, 15 November, at 11:30 in B349 Rm616. The guest speaker will be Gregg Costabile from the Air Armament Center's Air Dominance Group (328th ARSG).

Gregg will present a talk and answer questions on Manufacturing Readiness Assessments (MRAs). MRAs provide a method to assess a program's ability to produce its intended design; identify risks that increase production costs; and uncover risks that result in late deliveries of lower-than-expected delivery rates. MRAs also help assist with the building, planning, budgeting, funding, and implementing of those actions necessary to lower these risks.

This briefing will provide an overview of the MRA process and include an arbitrary example to highlight key points of performing an MRA.

Don't forget, we will be having sub sandwiches and soft drinks courtesy of the chapter.

If you cannot attend but are interested, please contact me or one of the board members listed on this website.
INCOSE Lunch Meeting, July 19, 2007, Bldg 260, Eglin AFB, 11:00 AM

INCOSE and the Jacobs TEAS T&E Community of Practice will host a joint lunch and learn, on Thursday, 19 July, at 11:00. The guest speaker will be LtCol Tony “E.T.” Murphy, Deputy Commander, 53rd Weapons Evaluation Group (53WEG), Tyndall AFB.

LtCol Murphy will present a talk and answer questions about the Weapons System Evaluation Program, or WSEP. LtCol Murphy is a highly experienced and respected fighter pilot with over 3000 hours of fighter time, primarily in the F-15C. He is a graduate of the F-15 Fighter Weapons School and a veteran of Desert Storm, during which he was credited with two aerial victories. He will provide some perspective on the role of WSEP that will be beneficial to anyone involved throughout the lifecycle of air-delivered munitions, from research and development through operational employment.

For over 30 years, WSEP has taken a systems engineering approach to the realistic operational evaluation of both air-to-air and air-to-ground weapons. The 53WEG conducts the Air Force's air-to-air WSEP, known as Combat Archer, and the Air Force's air-to-ground WSEP, known as Combat Hammer.

Air-to-air WSEP evaluates the total air-to-air weapons system including aircraft, weapon delivery system, weapon, aircrew, support equipment, technical data and maintenance actions. The program evaluates weapon system performance, determines reliability, evaluates capability and limitations, identifies deficiencies, recommends corrective action, maintains Combat Air Force-wide data, investigates missile envelopes, and evaluates capabilities and limitations to determine future firing requirements.

Air-to-ground WSEP evaluates the total air-to-ground precision guided munitions process including weapon buildup, weapon loading, aircraft, aircrew employment procedures, support equipment, technical data and maintenance actions. The program evaluates the Air Force's air-to-ground precision capabilities, verifies weapon system performance, determines reliability, evaluates capability and limitations, identifies deficiencies, recommends corrective action, maintains Combat Air Force-wide data, investigates PGM envelopes, and evaluates capabilities and limitations to determine future employment requirements.

Don't forget, we will be having lunch and soft drinks courtesy of Jacobs Technology. Please RSVP via e-mail to melissa.adkins.ctr@eglin.af.mil if you plan to attend. Hurry, seating is limited to 60 people!!!

If you cannot attend but are interested, please contact me or one of the board members listed on this website.
