The subject is S3D – Ship Smart System Design by Roger Dougal, University of South Carolina. S3D is the commercial market name of a virtual simulation software that has been under development for 8 years at USC. This comprehensive simulation model software has a military shipbuilding industry focus and is being designed for use throughout a ship's life cycle, including ship design, crew training, and future shipalts. It is an interactive dynamic simulation tool which exemplifies the interdisciplinary system relationships in a system of systems.
