Systems Engineering Certification Tutorial Webinar
Interested in receiving your INCOSE Systems Engineering (SE) certification and becoming an INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP)? The INCOSE Hampton Roads Area (HRA) Chapter and Northrop Grumman Corporation (NGC) are hosting a tutorial webinar to help you learn SE and prepare for the certification exam. The tutorial is taught by John O. Clark, Chief Engineer at the NGC Information Systems Sector and Director of Education & Training for the HRA Chapter. The tutorial covers the CSEP process and the SE Handbook version 3.1 (the basis for the CSEP exam). It also provides tips on filling out your application. A certificate of completion is provided.
Beginning Thursday, November 19th and running through April 2010, the tutorial consists of 16 weekly sessions, held from noon to 1:30 p.m., Eastern Time USA, for up to 125 INCOSE and 250 NGC participants on a first-come-first-serve basis. There is no cost and no need to register, just join in. Prior to each session, participants are encouraged to read the sections and appendices of the SE Handbook to be presented. Course materials include the tutorial slides (including PowerPoint Notes), sample questions, and prior-session audio recordings.

The INCOSE SE Handbook Tutorial complements the Systems Engineers’ preparation for the INCOSE SE Certification exam by providing an overview of the each section of the INCOSE Systems Engineering Handbook (V3.1) in a study group format.
On completing this tutorial, the participant will:
o Have a good understanding of systems, systems engineering, systems engineering management, and systems engineering processes, from an INCOSE perspective
o Have a good understanding of the system life cycle
o Be able to apply the SE Handbook to a project
o Use a common terminology to enhance communications
o Be well prepared for the CSEP exam
The course Agenda includes the Certified Systems Engineer Professional (CSEP) Process and the Management and Technical Sections of the SE Handbook. Most of the slides include instructor notes. Audio recordings are provided after each class. Reading of the appropriate sections of the Handbook before each class is recommended.
