2007 International Workshop – Schedule by Group

Following is the preliminary schedule of board, committee, and working group meetings for the International Workshop. Committee and working group chairs are currently making their plans. This section will be continually updated as groups submit meeting space request forms, so we encourage you to check the website regularly for updates. Meeting dates and times are subject to change. If you have any questions regarding your meeting date and time, please don't hesitate to contact the INCOSE Conference Manager.

The primary topics for discussion are: (i) Morning: overview of 2006 accomplishments; and detailed presentations on major accomplishments to include: INCOSE/AWG support of the US DoD Systems of Systems Engineering (SoSE) Guide, Status of the OMG UML Profiling of the DoDAF and MODAF (UPDM), and more. (ii) Afternoon: AWG business and planning for 2007 to include the selection one or more AWG Co-chairs, consideration of the standing up of an "open subgroup" in the AWG to facilitate the publication of research on architecture-based systems engineering, and the standing up of a subgroup to support the review of architecture-related papers submitted to INCOSE for publication. A WEBEX will be provided for this session.

The goals for the workshop are to provide a forum to: (i) Review the INCOSE MBSE Vision 2020; (ii) Share strategies among practitioners, educators and researchers for making the MBSE Vision a reality; (iii) Identify enhancements to the vision; (iv) Determine attributes that users need from MBSE tools to address different system life-cycle stages and system level views; (v) Discuss requirements for the enabling technology infrastructures to support MBSE; (iv) Refine actions that INCOSE can take to achieve the vision

Resilient Systems POC: Scott Jackson	Sun, 28 Jan	1300-1700	This is a kick-off meeting for the group. There will be a discussion of how systems, such as space, nuclear power and commercial aircraft, can be resilient to catastrophes and to recover from them. It will begin with a brief presentation pertaining to the Resilience Engineering symposium in France in November and how the RSWG can play a role in the international Resilience Engineering Network. A key objective is to decide what our products are and to solicit future leadership.

Agenda topics will include review and update of the near and long-term roadmap plans for this area that were developed at IW06, status of current WG operations and identification of any issues and support needs, identification of need and interest in starting additional WGs with Specialty Engineering Enabler sponsorship, call for participation in the NDIA Systems Assurance Guidebook development, and succession planning for the lead of this enabler area.

Specifically we will be discussing the following topics. Revision of several standards that are in the process of being revised: ISO/IEC 15288, EIA 632, and AIAA G-043. Development of ISO/IEC 15504 Part 6 for capability evaluation of SE process. Development of standards on system architecture and SE terminology. Development of UML Profile for DODAF and MODAF. Enterprise architecture standards. Review of draft of ISO 10303 AP233 and semantic models.

Systems Science Enabler Group POC: Brian White	Mon, 29 Jan	0930-1200	Routine Systems Science Enable Group meeting. Agenda will include discussions of complex theory, complex systems, SoS, Enterprises, and how systems science can inform better practices of systems engineering. Focus will be on developing short essays for INCOSE INSIGHT, particularly proposing candidate essays for the planned Fall 2007 Systems Science theme issue. Another possibility is planning for a potential SSEG-generated chapter on complex systems engineering for the next version of INCOSE's Systems Engineering Handbook.
