Hello INCOSE MG Members and interested folks, We have started the year in great shape with our strong participation at the FIRST Robotics St. Louis Regional Competition. Although this year we have not sponsored teams like previous years due to issues in getting our yearly budget approved in time, we had an opportunity to have a INCOSE MG booth at the event. We also had Team 1706 that has been filmed by a PBS crew come speak at our March membership meeting. There is a lot work to be done to ensure we continue to support this worthwhile outreach activity that enables students to see the value of systems engineering as they go about building a robot in six weeks to compete in a given unique challenge every year. The necessity for us to share the good news with the youth on processes such as trade studies is more important today than ever since engineering now operates in a global environment. It is necessary that we have processes that allow us to evaluate all possible engineering solutions and be able to pursue one that is the best alternative. Check out more info on our involvement on FIRST Robotics in our quarterly newsletter.
