Dr. Brian White, Director of the Systems Engineering Process Office at The MITRE Corporation
Description
A systems engineering approach for enterprises and complex systems has been proposed. This approach focuses on the systems engineering environment and the relationships among the collection of systems in that environment as opposed to the systems themselves. A complex-system engineering regimen consisting of eight activities for the deliberate and accelerated management of natural processes that shape the development of complex-systems will be described. Although this regimen is not yet mature, it appears to have potential for practical application in enterprise environments. It is proposed as a set of techniques that could be piloted in certain system of systems environments to further test its viability.
