Description

In an age of increasing organizational complexity, small group dynamics are becoming increasingly important. Human psychological and social behaviors need closer examination as organizations increasingly rely on decentralization and self-organization to achieve their goals.

This new perspective on how to manage organizations successfully in a networked, globalized world are necessary in order to make an organization more agile and flexible in an increasingly competitive and dynamic world. In such a complex environment individual dynamics can have a dramatic impact on the overall function of the organization.

Leadership in today’s environment requires an understanding of the complex variables affecting today’s organizations, in addition to how human dynamics within this ever changing system can make or break an organization.

What can help organizations see the gestalt or Big Picture of complexity and its impact on their own particular and unique organization? How can leaders develop greater understanding and abilities to help them meet the new challenges facing organizations in today’s fast paced complex world?

What will help organizations facilitate change and cultural transformations to meet the demands of a constantly changing global environment? How can organizations model the adaptive evolutionary behavior that succeeds in complex systems?

How do organizations enable their members to embrace conflict and utilize it constructively to unleash the powerful creativity of individuals and groups in an organization?

How do we learn to effect a paradigm shift from thinking of organizations as machines, to thinking of them as living systems?
