The Role
The C3I Engineering Group is responsible for developing and delivering Tactical Data Link Systems to numerous customers in the UK and mainland Europe utilising our clients host processing software suite developed in the US. In an effort to provide enhanced European customer focus we are looking to
build a team in the UK capable of tailoring the software suite for European programmes.
The ideal candidate will have a track record of several of years of developing Windows based software applications in accordance with the whole development lifecycle: requirements capture, high level & low level design, code, low level test, integration and up to the final software verification and
validation phases.
Following the appropriate level of knowledge transfer from US to UK, the successful candidate will become a Subject Matter Expert within the UK for the Software suite providing support to contracted programmes along with Bids and Proposals. This will include generating software architectures,
design, implementation and test.
Key Qualifications and Experience
Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant Engineering discipline.
C++ programming language experience (3+ years)
Use of integrated development environment (Visual Studio)
Experience in all stages of the software lifecycle
UML experience
Java programming experience

- Systems Engineer

Job Description:
Provide hands-on system engineering leadership to a series of small integration teams encompassing technical planning, system integration, performance characteristics verification
and validation, cost, risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses after integration. Responsible for the technical oversight of multiple concurrent projects to include the design,
engineering and implementation of software and systems for a global windows based network. Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or
product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost constraints, and respect policies and standards.
Provide expert judgment and analysis that encompasses full life cycle of solutions/systems including concept, alternative analysis, market research, system integration, test, installation,
operation, maintenance, trouble shooting and disposal. Consult with other engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software and operational performance
requirements of the overall system. Work independently or as part of a cross contractor/cross functional team. Provide, prepare, interpret and present design, application,
service and performance information to decision-makers to support technical recommendations. Prepare design, testing, installation, troubleshooting and
support documentation that becomes part of the acceptance/transfer package for hand-off from engineering to operations. Assure the design of solutions (software tools, subsystems,
etc.) supports reuse and management. Review, understand and develop specifications, data flow diagrams and other accepted design techniques. Prepare detailed product and HW/SW
specifications for ordering and assembling. Develop testing requirements and procedures for hardware and software prior to migration into the customer infrastructure.
Assure conduct of testing meets functionality and performance goals. Provide follow-up support in trouble-shooting or disseminating technical information on specific solutions.
Conducts/contributes to risk analysis including estimating impact of unforeseen problems. Prepare schedules, including resource requirements for life-cycle of products/systems.
Recommend and implement policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
ˇ MS plus 7+ years experience
ˇ or BS plus 9+ years experience
ˇ or AS plus 19+ years experience
ˇ or HS plus 23+ years experience
Preferred Additional Skills:
* Master's Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science,
Network Engineering, Information Systems and 7 years experience with integration (or Bachelor's Degree and 9 years). Knowledge of Windows infrastructure(Windows 2003/2008), Active
Directory, client/server architecture, Windows Vista, SCOM, SCCM/SMS. Requires the application of the principles and techniques of computer science, engineering and network design.
Candidate must be able to articulate and present system engineering concepts/solutions to customer in a clear and concise manner. Candidate must demonstrate self confidence, initiative, and
ability to work in generally defined task areas, with daily but not close supervision. Candidate must be proficient with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio). Candidate must
demonstrate superior writing and speaking (briefing) ability. A writing sample of a technical nature (i.e., technical white paper) may be required. Knowledge of Microsoft ILM, Oracle/SQL, virtualization
(Hyper-V and/or VMWare) a plus. Current Windows 2008/2003 professional certification required (or quickly re-instated). Virtualization and VMWare experience. Familiar with Agile software development processes.
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Position requires a current Top Secret/SSBI
Security Clearance.
