SEANET is an INCOSE sponsored network of doctoral student researchers working in the field of systems engineering and architecting. Initiated in 2005, the SEANET ran a pilot program to explore the merits of this concept. A workshop held in conjunction with the 2006 Conference on Systems Engineering Research (CSER) was attended by over 30 students. In 2007, the SEANET held a workshop with over thirty participants in conjunction with INCOSE, in San Diego, CA.
What is the purpose of SEANET?
INCOSE wishes to foster and accelerate doctoral research in the area of systems engineering and architecting, and one means to do this is by connecting student researchers and providing broader mentorship through senior level INCOSE professionals via the network. The network will:
- bring together students from several universities with similar yet complementary interests
- provide additional mentoring through INCOSE Fellows and technical leaders
- provide collaboration and publication venues
Students doctoral funding comes through the individual university.
The 2008 SEANET Workshop is being held on Thursday April 3 in Los Angeles, CA in conjunction with the Conference on Systems Engineering Research (CSER). For details contact Dr. Donna Rhodes or Ricardo Vilerdi.
