Abstract

This month INCOSE is offering you the opportunity to participate
in the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter's first topic-based
networking evening.  The topic we will be addressing is "How To
Use Systems Engineering to Reduce Program Risk While Producing
Systems/Services Better, Faster and Cheaper".  Chapter members,
guests, and visitors will share specific experiences, and the
insights they have gained from their experience.  You are welcome
to come just to listen, but you are encouraged to come with a
specific example from your experience you would be willing to
share.  Examples can describe explicit use of systems engineering
(with a person or team assigned to a systems engineering role in
product development or service delivery), or implicit use of systems
engineering (when someone with systems engineering insight in any
role is able to reduce risks, costs or speed time to market).

Several examples from the commercial arena are planned to be
shared, as well as examples from defense conversion (application
of technology developed for defense applications to other customers).
Come and share your own examples, or ask questions of others
sharing their examples -- or just to listen and learn.  Our intent is
to offer a structured opportunity to interact with each other, enhance
the networking experience that's offered at every meeting, while
addressing a topic of interest to many of us.

               6:00-7:00 Talk followed by questions.
               Networking and sidebars to 8 PM.  
Place:         GTE Government Systems, Mountain View, Bldg 7 Auditorium.
               100 Ferguson Drive  (Central Expressway and Highway 237)
               Access to GTE is from Central Expressway or Hwy 237 using
               Ferguson Drive (road parallels 237).

INCOSE visitors enter through the lobby of Building 7. Please park
in the lot north of the building and walk between Bldg 6 and 7
to the front of 7.  Visitor sign-in is in the lobby.

Handicapped Access Parking close to the lobby is available in the lot
in front of Bldg 7 and 5.  Additional access information is available by
contacting Lew Lee.

Suggested Driving Directions:

East on Central Expressway -- exit at Ferguson.
West on Central Expressway -- exit at Ferguson.

West on Hwy 237 (going towards Mtn. View) -- take Middlefield exit.
Right at Middlefield then a quick left onto Ferguson.

East on Hwy 237 (going towards Milpitas) - take Middlefield exit.
Left at Middlefield, cross under 237 then a left onto Ferguson
(2nd traffic light past 237).

South on Hwy 101 -- take Hwy 85 to Central Expressway.  Make a left
(east) onto Central then left at Ferguson.

North on Hwy 101 -- take Hwy 237 West (Mtn. View - Alviso Hwy) exit.
Take Middlefield exit, right at Middlefield, then a quick left onto 
Ferguson.
