The Congressional Fellow Program |
![]() |
Dear Reader, I joined INCOSE in '91, at its first symposium in Chattanooga, member 26. Since then I have participated in a number of INCOSE activities through the San Francisco Bay Chapter. As a "member on the move", IEEE has sponsored me as a Congressional Fellow of 1998 where I shall be working as a staff member on the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources. As part of my program I am writing summaries of my experiences on Capitol Hill. The summaries are sent to the SF Chapter and the Washington DC Chapter for their newsletters. In response to the question: What is a Congressional Fellow, I wrote the first entry describing the program. I am submitting this and future installments for inclusion in INCOSE's INSIGHTs so that members can learn about this program. I am open to any suggestions the reader may have. I plan on a monthly summary of my activities for the year with the idea of presenting both some paradoxes and substantive work on Capitol Hill as seen from the perspective of an engineering physicist. Sincerely yours, Frederick MartinAAAS/IEEE Congressional Fellow |
