SuperSystem Process Builds on SHARED VISION

Presenter: Dr. William H. Cutler, Ph.D.

What is the SuperSystem challenge? Most public policy problems are difficult because they require creation of complex systems(social, political, economic, physical) embedded in a complex environment.

The breadth and detail of today's complex systems are too extensive for an ordinary individual or a group to grasp. The geniuses who can do it are far too rare.

Systems take on "life of their own." Incomplete understanding of the system and its world can lead to unintended and unfortunate consequences.

An effective system solution depends on successfully melding many viewpoints and many fields of expertise in a Shared Vision, which includes:

  • The problem and the goal
  • The solution discovery process
  • The facts of the matter (situation specifics, applicable cause-and-effect)

Who Must Attend? The seminar is for people at all levels of local government, non-profits, and citizen action groups who are involved in the everyday work of creating a better functioning community.
