WHAT'S IN THIS TUTORIAL:

In addition to discussions about the best ways to launch project teams and create project culture, the tutorial will include the instructor's latest work on the reduction of time spent in meetings, and innovative communication strategies which reduce conflict.

Topics will include:

Participants are encouraged to bring meeting agendas and descriptions of actual situations to the tutorial.  Participants will be able to return to the workplace with a set of tools and immediately take practical, clear steps to build and maintain high technology teams.

Each pre-registered attendee will receive a printed copy of the course material (which is distributed on the day of the course).

Date:   Saturday, May 22, 1999

Time:   8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (includes an hour for lunch; lunch is provided)

Place:   San Jose State University, Engineering Building

Cost:   Space is limited.  Enrollment deadline is May 14 (postmark date).

About the Instructor

MICHELE JACKMAN is an instructor in the UCSC Project Management Certificate program and owns her own consulting and training company.  For over 25 years, she has been taking a "systems" approach to all her organizational improvement work and has assisted many Fortune and Inc. 100 companies with Innovation and Transition.  She is the co-author of Star Teams, Key Players and has written articles on "Toxic Teams" and what to do about them for the Journal of Software Engineering. Michele's courses are known for their dynamic content and highly practical tools.

ENROLLMENT AND CONTACT INFORMATION

Pre-Registration is Required:   Fill out and return the enrollment form provided.  Acceptable forms of payment are checks, bank drafts, and money orders (sorry, no purchase orders or credit cards).  Fees are payable to INCOSE.  To "reserve" a space in the tutorial when paying by company check, remit a personal check and attach a note to hold for company payment. Pre-registration ends May 14, 1999.

Late Registration:   Enrollment forms postmarked after May 14 will be treated as Late Registration.  Late Registration received prior to May 21 will require a $15 late fee.  Late registration received on May 21 and walk-ins on May 22 will require a $30 late fee.  Late registrants are not guaranteed handouts at the beginning of the tutorial.  We will attempt to make handouts available during the day of the tutorial.

Confirming Enrollment:  Call 650-938-0553 if enrollment confirmation is not received by Tuesday, May 18, 1999.

Enrollment Packets:  A confirmation notice will be in the enrollment information package.  A map to San Jose State and the auditorium will be provided as well as parking information and a phone number to be used in an emergency.  Course material will be distributed on the day of the tutorial at the registration desk.  Registration begins at 8 a.m.  The course is scheduled to end at 5 p.m.

Lunch is Provided:  A one hour lunch break is scheduled.  Lunch will be provided and the entree will be a selection of sandwiches with various meats and cheeses.  Please list dietary restrictions on the enrollment form.

Cancellation Policy:   Full refunds will be made prior to May 14.  The registration fee will also be refunded if the tutorial must be cancelled or rescheduled due to circumstances beyond our control.
