"Status of Certification of Systems Engineers"
Charles B. (Chuck) Halligan
Lockheed Martin

Program Abstract
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The presentation focuses on the details and status of the INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) Program. The INCOSE CSEP is one of the most important priorities for the society management and members. A Working Group, led by INCOSE Past President John Clouet, has been diligently working on the CSEP details, plans, requirements, and implementation. The Working Group, in concert with the INCOSE Board of Directors (BOD) and an external consulting psychometric company, have developed a set of candidate examinations and requirements for individual professional certification. The Working Group continues to work detail requirements in a submitted Operational Plan to be considered by the BOD at the International Working Group (IW04) in Portland. The presentation reviews salient CSEP features and the current status to assist and inform SFBAC membership.
About the Speaker:
Charles B. (Chuck) Halligan is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) invited to participate in the INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) Program Working Group. He is a former SFBAC Chapter Director and active INCOSE member. Chuck is currently employed by Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company in Sunnyvale as a Senior Staff Systems Engineer in the Military Communications Satellite Programs. He has been a Program Manager and Senior Systems Engineering Management among other previous assignments external to LMSSC. He has AA, BS, and MA degrees while currently working on a PhD at Fielding Graduate Institute.
