Bill Sanders was a Student member of the San Diego INCOSE chapter prior to earning his Certificate in Systems Engineering at the University of California, San Diego, in 2003. While in San Diego, Bill actively participated in various INCOSE chapter activities to include being the coordinator for one of their successful weekend Tutorial and Mini-Conference programs. After accepting a contract support position in San Jose at BAE Systems in 2005, Bill started attending the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter INCOSE activities in Santa Clara.
Bill started working on the Design, Production, Testing, Verification, Modification, and Customer Support of Embedded Defense Electronics Combat Systems while he was stationed at the Fleet Combat Direction System Support Activity (FCDSSA) in San Diego, which has since been incorporated into the Naval Space and Warfare Center (SPAWAR). He filled various Human-Machine Interface (HMI) Design and System Engineering roles on air and surface combat systems to include Software Quality Assurance (QA) and Configuration Management (CM) Project Office support.
After leaving the US Navy, Bill continued on with Systems Engineering activities as either an Employee or Contractor supporting Raytheon Corporation, BAE Systems, Thales-Raytheon, and Northrup Grumman Corporation. He has worked on US and Foreign Military Sales projects to include having the pleasure of serving on several Proposal Teams where his work spanned from working as a Subject Matter Expert to being Editor and Producer of the final deliverables.
Bill has a Bachelor of Science in Material Science Engineering from San Jose State University, and a MBA from the University of San Diego. He has additional Certificates in Network Design and Administration, and Multi-Media Design & Education from San Diego State University. In the aviation arena, Bill continues as an FAA Certificated Commercial Pilot and Flight Instructor, and serves as a Board Member of the California Pilots Association and a Flying Club.
