Prior to joining BD Biosciences Channy worked in the Defense Industry with Kaiser Electronics/Rockwell Collins, Lockheed, Northrop Grumman, and BAE Systems. Her work included designing, developing and testing Real-Time Firmware for the F-18 Heads-Up-Display and the Multi-Function-Display, F-35 JSF Mission Computer Network Interface Unit. She developed algorithms to correct image warping and optimize image processing performance. She also created system modeling for a gyroscopic and optical hybrid Helmet Tracking Vehicle System. Additionally, she designed, developed, tested and integrated systems and managed system deployment configurations. Further experience includes creation of a simulation system to aid in incremental integration for Airborne Signal Processing. Channy also designed system software architecture for the Common Crew Station in the Manned Ground Vehicle division of the Future Combat System program.

Channy received Bachelor of Science degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics from University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and a Masters of Science degree in Applied Mathematics with concentration in Operations Research from Santa Clara University.
