This year's theme, "A Capabilities Based Requirements Perspective," focuses on the means that will enable systems engineers and other stakeholders to comprehensively understand system requirements and effectively communicate these requirements to design engineers, in order to create and maintain the Battlespace environment. As system complexity has increased over the last two decades, it is now more challenging to fully comprehend the requirements of these systems, and more difficult to translate that comprehension into terms and artifacts that designers and implementers can quickly grasp and effectively use.
The Conference is designed to provide at the practitioner level, an understanding of planning and policy requirements, acquisition lifecycle expectations, test and evaluation methodologies, technology advancements and specific programs in place to mature Battlespace capabilities for the warfighter.
