Fellow Board Members -

David Long from INCOSE just called with the official news that our chapter has been recognized as an INCOSE Gold Circle Award Chapter for 2003. As you know, this annual award recognizes chapters reaching the highest goals and standards established by INCOSE.

This is our second Gold Award in as many years - SoMD was one of the select few to be recognized in 2002 in the inaugural of the award. While awards are not the reason we are committed to INCOSE and our chapter, it is indeed nice to be reconized by the international organization for the efforts and contributions we have made. Our individual members are and will be our strength, but the efforts of the Board over the past year ensured our Chapter's continued international recognition with this year's award. I appreciate your dedication and commitment to the Chapter and to INCOSE, and I surely look forward to continuing our demonstrated success in fostering and promoting Systems Engineering at the local and international levels.

The Gold Circle Award recipients will be recognized at the at the 2003 INCOSE International Symposium in Crystal City. I will be honored to represent the Southern Maryland Chapter at the Symposium Business Meeting on Thursday, July 3, and to receive the award on your behalf.
