Over the past three years, the organisation's software engineering business in Perth has undertaken an extensive journey in software process improvement. Along the way the organisation has implemented many improvements to its complete range of project management and software engineering processes. All staff in the organisation have been involved in the improvements in some way - from developing new procedures through to adopting and following them.

To make the journey even more challenging, the organisation has chosen to move Ada based development to Java, making extensive use of Internet/Intranet technologies.

At the time of submitting this paper, the organisation was preparing to undertake a full capability assessment using the new Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMI) and determine where exactly we are on the map. The case study will look at past highlights of our journey so far and also what the future holds for us.
