MONDAY ICEBREAKER RECEPTION

Join us for the Ice Breaker Reception focusing on "Points of Light" illuminating the pathways to the grand opening of the Exhibits Hall. Come casual, meet old friends, make new ones, receive information on the latest in technology processes and procedures for implementing Systems Engineering; while enjoying hors d’oeuvres. We’ll see you there.

TUESDAY IS FUN DAY

All Day

This is only the start of another full day of symposium learning activities. Relax in the tropics and come dressed as vacationers (sun hats, shorts, Hawaiian shirts, sandals, etc.) and get set to experience some interactive fun with the exhibitors as you begin the Discovery Fun Card game! The game will finish during the Wednesday Reception.

TUESDAY EXHIBIT HALL SOCIAL HOUR

What a great opportunity to talk with your colleagues and new friends about the past few days’ events while making some plans for the remainder of your time in Orlando. A light meal will be served.

ROBOTICS DEMONSTRATION

1400 - 1700

Four FIRST Robotics Teams from the Florida area and an industrial robotics team will be demonstrating their latest creations. Think you have an idea for a future FIRST robotics course? Then come and help the students design a new course that may be used for future FIRST competitions.

WEDNESDAY RECEPTION AND BANQUET

Attend the Banquet Reception beginning at 1800 in the Exhibit Hall where we will finish the Discovery Fun Card Game and experience a special celebration in honour of CSEPs. Then move to the banquet room for a lively presentation by Dr. William Rouse and get ready to be amazed by the exciting Cirque Show that will entice your wildest analytical imagination.

William B. Rouse Speaker Abstracts

Bill Rouse is the Executive Director of the Tennenbaum Institute at the Georgia Institute of Technology. This university-wide center pursues a multi-disciplinary portfolio of initiatives focused on research and education to provide knowledge and skills for enterprise transformation. He is also a professor in the College of Computing and School of Industrial and Systems Engineering. Rouse has written hundreds of articles and book chapters, and has authored many books, including most recently Essential Challenges of Strategic Management (Wiley, 2001) and the award-winning Don’t Jump to Solutions (Jossey-Bass, 1998). He is editor of Enterprise Transformation: Understanding & Enabling Fundamental Change (Wiley, 2006), co-editor of Organizational Simulation: From Modeling & Simulation to Games & Entertainment (Wiley, 2005), co-editor of the best-selling Handbook of Systems Engineering and Management (Wiley, 1999), and editor the eight-volume series Human/Technology Interaction in Complex Systems (Elsevier). Rouse is a member of the National Academy of Engineering, as well as a fellow of three professional societies -- the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the Institute for Operations Research and Management Science, and the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society. He received his B.S. from the University of Rhode Island, and his S.M. and Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
