Topic: INCOSE CERTIFICATION: What It Means For You

Speakers: Steve Ratts and Linda Maness

About the Presentation:
The INCOSE SEP Certification is an international standard of recognition for attainment of knowledge, education, and experience in Systems Engineering. The road to acquiring this distinctive achievement is long and difficult – there are fewer than 3000 Certified System Engineering Professionals (CSEPs) worldwide.  Come learn about the process, how it can benefit you, how to apply and the training needed to pass the test. The certification test is based on the INCOSE Systems Engineering Handbooks.  The INCOSE methodology covered in the handbook describes key process activities performed by systems engineers and other engineering professionals.  It covers such topics as system thinking, system science, life cycle management, specialty engineering, system of systems, and agile and iterative methods.  It is consistent with ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288:2015 Systems and software engineering, and has been updated to include the latest concepts of the INCOSE working groups.

The presenters are also introducing a new cohort study group to begin in November.  Sign up for this training will be offered at the meeting.    Come join and learn the latest concepts in systems engineering.

About our Presenters:
Steve Ratts is a Systems Engineer with over 21 years of experience in all phases of weapon system design, integration and test and is a Subject Matter Expert in System Security Engineering, Cryptography, System Architecture, and Design. Steve is an advocate of Model Based Systems Engineering and its application to Systems Security Engineering. In 2015 Steve led a cohort of senior systems engineers preparing for the INCOSE CSEP exam, which he took and passed in December of that year. In his spare time, Steve teaches scuba diving and photography.
