North Texas Chapter

The North Texas Chapter of INCOSE (International Council of System Engineering) is centered in the Dallas-Fort Worth area of north Texas and is open to those interested or practicing systems engineering.  

Mission

Promote, educate, and mentor on Systems Engineering standards and practices to strengthen the North Texas Systems Engineering industry.

Vision

Serve as a professional organization that is the regional focal point for Systems Engineering resources, development, and awareness.

About the Presentation:

Clean renewable solar energy is and will continue to be a critically important source of electrical energy. Solar energy has the potential of meeting all of the world's energy needs, and has seen substantial growth in recent years. Solar cells can convert sun light directly into electrical energy, and much progress has been made in making them less expensive and more efficient. This presentation will examine optimizing solar cell efficiency and solar energy production.         

Speaker:
John Wilcox, PhD.

About the Speaker: 

Dr. John Wilcox researched high efficiency solar cells and operating solar cells at high temperatures. His research interests include semiconductor device physics, optoelectronics, photovoltaic devices, semiconductor temperature dependencies, numerical modeling and analytical modeling. He graduated with the MSECE degree in 2009 and the Ph.D. degree in Aug, 2013. He has published numerous research papers in journals and conferences.
