President - Robin Barrow

John Lillard
Robin Barrow is a Lead Systems Engineer with Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic, a Department of the Navy organization. In her current position, she supports the DoD joint command and control (C2) system used to provide worldwide connectivity with all levels of command. These systems provide situational awareness, support for intelligence, force planning, readiness assessment, and deployment applications required to effectively plan and execute joint military operations.  

Ms. Barrow holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and holds the following professional certifications: Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PMI-ACP (Agile Certified Practitioner), CSEP, Security+, and DevOps Foundations Certification; and also teaches Agile for NIWC Atlantic. 

Ms. Barrow resides in Summerville, SC where she loves being outdoors, working in her yard and gardening.  She also volunteers with the Carolina Basset Hound Rescue and the Nursery Directory at Coastal Harvest Church.
President Elect - Andrea Rodriguez

Peter Reddy

Andrea Rodriguez has gained much of her professional experience in the employment of reputable contractors, Lockheed Martin and Computer Sciences Corporation, serving notable  DoD contracts including VA Chapter 33 and MRAP. In her current employment with Gateway Ventures, Incorporated (GVI) as a Management Analyst, she contributes to the project initiatives of the GCCS-TCO/JTCW Integrated Product Team (IPT) by applying her innovative project management skills and solutions.  

Originally from Erie, PA and a graduate of Penn State University, Ms. Rodriguez considers herself a life-long learner, having and recently obtained her Microsoft Project Orange Belt Certification, she is currently working to obtain her Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

She calls the Charleston-area home, claiming “almost-native” status after residing here for 16 years.

Bill Akin
Johnathan Allin is a Chief Engineer at Booz Allen Hamilton in the Charleston, SC market and has over 20 years' experience in systems engineering on a multitude of federal projects.  He has lived and worked in Charleston since 2004, holding positions such as Enterprise Architect, Program Manager, and Technical Director, ultimately supporting the application and growth of the systems engineering field.  

Prior to working in Charleston, he worked in government contracting in Washington, D.C., focusing on Test and Evaluation (T&E) and Systems Engineering for various federal programs.  He holds a Master of Science degree in Systems Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of South Carolina, and a Certificate in Architecture and Systems Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).  He is also a Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP).

Paul Walter

Rosie Knotts is a Systems Engineer with Booz Allen Hamilton. In her current position she practices model-based systems engineering with a focus on enterprise architecture and system modeling using UAF. A Jill of all Trades, prior to working at Booz Allen Hamilton, she worked in Data Analytics, Hospitality Management, and Art Restoration.

She received her bachelor’s degree from Presbyterian College, and a Certificate in Architecture and Systems Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Additionally, she holds Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and OSCMP II Fundamental Modeler certifications. She is looking to continue her education in the fall.

 A Lowcountry local, Rosie currently resides on Johns Island where she spends much of her time outdoors, and creating things with her hands, from jewelry to food to her current project, building a beehive, which she hopes will become a fountain of honey.

Treasurer - Jeffrey Phillips

Jeffrey Phillips was born in Charleston, SC and grew up in Moncks Corner, SC.  He has been married since March 1999 to Christina Phillips.  They have two kids, Sean and Chloe.  Jeff graduated from Berkeley High in 1994.  In 1996, He received an associates in Engineering Design Graphics from Trident Technical College.  He worked as a CAD technician as he continued his education at night. In 2011 Jeff graduated from the Citadel with a GPA of 3.5, and received a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering.  He has served 20 years in the Army National Guard, and retired February 2013 as a Sergeant First Class.

Jeff currently works at NIWC - Atlantic as a systems engineer.  He started at NIWC as a new professional in March 2013.  The project that he is currently on is JBC-P FoS Navy, also known as Blue Force Tracker, as a Technical Manager.  Jeff passed the CSEP in April 2015, and currently holds a certificate of ASEP. In addition, Jeff is currently certified as a System Engineer Level 1 through DAU, working toward being Systems Engineer Level 2.
 
Director, Outreach - Shawn Gordon, Maj, USAF (Ret)

Shawn Gordon

Shawn Gordon is a 24-year veteran of the United States Air Force serving in a variety of engineering and project/program management positions during his tenure as an aerospace professional.  His experience spans a myriad of weapon systems acquisition and logistic support programs, satellite operations, space telemetry, tracking, & control ground systems, electronic warfare/information operations, modeling and simulation, C4I sustainment, and weapons of mass destruction test & evaluation and survivability management.

Shawn is a certified Project Management Professional via the Project Management Institute, has a Systems Engineering certification from the Air Force Institute of Technology, and amassed many other professional training credentials during the course of his career building a vast reservoir of knowledge and skills.  He holds Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Level III certification in three disciplines - Project Management, Systems Procurement Research & Development Engineering, and Test & Evaluation, as well as Level I certification in Logistics, all obtained through the Defense Acquisition University.  A host of leadership experiences, along with these education and training opportunities, augment a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University and dual Masters of Arts in Procurement & Acquisition Management and Space Systems Management through Webster University.

Following retirement from the USAF Shawn has taken a career hiatus to serve as caregiver for an elderly parent.  He continues to give back to his profession and community through active membership in professional organizations and his fraternity holding various executive positions in local chapters.
