Abstract:

A high-performance team (HPT) is a group of people committed to a common purpose, showing high levels of collaboration and innovation. What is the difference between a HPT and any other team? What stands in the way of achieving HPTs—from an individual’s and a team’s perspective? The Tuckman Model of Forming, Storming, Norming, Performing, and Adjourning guides this tutorial. Participants will learn about the nature of team forming, the challenges encountered that lead to storming, the solution space and processes that lead to norming, the experience of performing, and the need for adjourning. Breakout sessions will allow participants to engage and learn as they process through the stages of the model.
