This webinar will address the challenges in applying systems engineering processes to high complexity systems under tight budgets and schedules, such as in NewSpace startups that develop Earth Observation microsatellites, and where the organization itself is also considered as a system under development. It will analyze the continuous tailoring of processes as well as sharing lessons learned.

Biography: Eng. Ignacio Chechile Ignacio is an Argentinian engineer and author based in Helsinki, Finland. He published a book titled “NewSpace Systems Engineering” (Springer 2021) where he describes the process of designing space systems in the context of what is known as “NewSpace”, which is an industry with a strong entrepreneurial component, short life cycles and low-cost designs. Furthermore, he published “The Fighting Startup Quick Guide” that addresses considerations when leading or working in tech startups. Lastly, he independently published a free book in Spanish called “La Ciencia Dura” that delves into Systems Thinking and the challenges of STEM careers.
