Presentation Abstract:
A Community of Practice (CoP) is a group of people who "share a concern or a passion for something they do and learn how to do it better as they interact regularly". Having the right skillsets to quickly move innovation forward is a major challenge we face. Effectively leveraging our existing, embedded competencies and assets and allowing them to grow at a healthy pace will ensure successful and innovative program delivery. CoP offers a robust strategy for improving professional learning in a fast-paced environment. It fosters critical thinking and allows better integration of work and knowledge sharing. It helps programs to achieve a diverse distributed population to drive innovation and improve competitive advantage. This presentation will provide a framework for establishing and measuring effective CoP that enables teams to solve complex problems in a collaborative and distributed way. It will discuss how to leverage the CoP concept to achieve a diverse distributed population to drive innovation and improve competitive advantage.

Edugie Niepa is a highly accomplished Solution Architect and Lockheed Martin Technical Fellow.
