Increase the relevance of systems engineering in business settings that are software- and data-intensive.
Scope
- Improve mutual understanding of what systems engineering and software engineering each do, and the value each provides.
- Develop work products that clarify what added knowledge or capabilities each discipline needs, how they work together, what they jointly design and build, and how to honor respective accountabilities.
- Focus on the interfaces between systems engineering, software engineering, and related disciplines—especially where gaps, duplications, conflicts, or missed opportunities reduce value.
- Interfaces in scope include organizational, operational, process, project, product and services, technical (physical, logical, data), and human interfaces.
- Related disciplines in scope include digital engineering, data science, human-centered design, innovation, and product.
Goal
Generate actionable work products for INCOSE Corporate Advisory Board members and the broader global community that address high-priority systems–software interface challenges and align with the INCOSE vision.
