Mission
Today, SE is largely applied to the development of “product” viewed as the system of interest, while the industrial system, which allows the production of them, is considered as an enabler.
From a manufacturer perspective, the industrial system is the system of interest. The industrial sytem is complex by it
network, interfaces, technology, connectivity, diversity of products to be produced, rate, size of the supply chain, human management, sustainability… with a growing complexity with Industry 4.0.
Thus, SE could bring benefits in the development & management of industrial systems. Nevertheless, industrial domain has its own specificities and historical development frameworks.
Application of SE to the life-cycle of an industrial system needs to be customized and be an integrated framework of all known best practices of indus systems development, operations & management.
The objective of this working group is to share best practices, define guidelines and leverage existing standards for industrial system developments.
Another objective is to build a space for Industrial community in SE to grow.
Goals
- primer on SE4Indus (end 2025)
- communication video based on key Manufacturer figures interviews (2026)
- propose a chapter (or subchapter) in INCOSE handbook V6 (2027) aligned with ISO15288 standard
- e-learning or awareness material/ session at IS
- samples of industrial system models
