The product system development process follows a three step sequence familiar to all system engineers: (1) define the problem you are trying to solve, (2) design and manufacture a solution to that problem, and (3) verify that the solution satisfies the requirements that drove it. Therefore, verification is a process for proving that the design of an entity satisfies the requirements for that entity that were crafted prior to the design of the entity.
