In the past few years, several models have been developed to measure systems engineering process or capability maturity. Two models, the INCOSE SECAM and EPIC SE-CMM, have gained a great deal of attention and have been used as source models, along with their application methods, to create a US standard, comprised of a single “merged” model and application method, for measuring and improving systems engineering capability.
