The requirement for a Corporate Memory / Knowledge Management capability originated in the South African Army’s Directorate Army Logistics, as well as the Defence Institute as a means to facilitate knowledge sharing and preservation. Both parties stand to benefit from this initiative and the development was thus undertaken as a joint venture.
