3.5.4 Systems Engineering Capability Model and the Systems Engineering Management Planning Environment

Introduction Existing Systems Engineering Tool Environments can be used to automate the systems engineering management planning process compliant with the Systems Engineering Capability Model (SECM) contained in EIA-731.1 and other necessary standards and practices. This paper describes how 3SL’s Cradle tool is being used to integrate the planning process, using multiple modeling techniques, while maintaining traceability to IEEE-1220-1998, EIA-632-1999, the EIA-731.1 & EIA-731.2 SECM practices and DoD 5000.2.
