This paper analyzes the impact that increased Systems Engineering process maturity has on innovation. The 19 Functional Areas (FAs) of the EIA/IS-731.1 Systems Engineering Capability Model (SECM) standard were each individually assessed for their quantitative impact against six key characteristics associated with innovation.
