Recognising the existence of the ‘other’ perspectives of a given situation results in improved understanding of the emergent properties of a system. This paper builds on a theoretical stance outlined in a paper at the INCOSE International Symposium in 2001 by providing an example of the application of a technique, Genetic Algorithms, which can assist in avoiding some of the biases introduced and incorrect assumptions made by everyone when solving a problem.
