This paper describes the results of a forward and reverse engineering effort, with the focus on how to plan, mange and control all the different artifacts (models, documents, issues and decision) in anticipation of their re-use during the development of subsequent versions over the life cycle. A Model Configuration Management Facility (MCMF: a prototype extension to RDD(TM)) was used to keep versions of these artifacts separated and organized into consistent and complete system configurations.
