This paper addresses the results of a study identifying the user requirements for a technical risk assessment technique, specifically for use by small to medium sized enterprises active in space engineering. By means of a questionnaire Systems Engineers and Project Managers of four companies where interviewed in order to collect data on the companies’ business, the experience of the personnel with risk management, constraints on the technique’s implementation and the content of the technique.
