The development of the Systems Engineering data standard AP233 was initiated and pursued by the work of the SEDRES and SEDRES-2 projects during 1996 through 2001. Subsequently Modular-AP233 has been under development, building on the experience of the SEDRES/AP233 data model, and extending the scope with additional Systems Engineering concepts.
