The paper surveys the current field of Systems Engineering Design Automation tools, applications, and their relationship to successful implementation of Concurrent Engineering. As well, it gives a future view of where the tools are going and why they are becoming increasingly important in the pursuit of improving engineering productivity and reducing engineering cycle time.
