This technical paper provides an overview of Rome Laboratory’s Research & Development Program in the area of System Engineering. In particular, it describes the results of an exploratory development effort which specified the system level requirements and operational concept for system engineering automation known as Catalyst, and focuses on an advanced development effort entitled “Advanced System Engineering Automation (ASEA)” which is implementing the automation concept.
