The use of automated requirements management tools has become mandatory in current systems due to their size and complexity, and the need to insure that all requirements will be fulfilled. Traceability of requirements from the system level to the hardware or software “box” level forms the basis for any requirements manage system, and is accomplished by use of a Project Unique Identifier (PUID).
