The need to capture the systems engineering knowledge base at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) and make it available to the next generation of systems engineers gave rise to the development of a systems engineering handbook to help foster the systems engineering philosophy in MSFC’s numerous young engineers. This paper will detail the development of the MSFC handbook, its history, and of special interest, will be a detailed discussion of the lessons-learned while developing the handbook.
