Developing a maturity model, as I had occasion to do with the Industrial Collaboration’s Systems Engineering Capability Maturity Model (SE-CMM), was a lengthy journey over partially charted waters. Some lessons our authoring and management team learned are described, a brief history of the effort is given, along with a short description of SE-CMM and its future plans.
