This paper presents a brief case study of the obstacles encountered and lessons learned as a result of the implementation of the concurrent engineering process during the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase of the F-22 program. The process is on-going; the organizational structure and implementation procedures continue to evolve as the program matures.
