Software quality assessment is a field that is coming into greater focus as the global drive for systemic quality assurance continues to gather momentum. Many forces are at play, from the pressures of consolidations, mergers, and downsizing, to the emergence of new technologies which are sparking renewed looks at re-engineering in business and government, particularly the advances in user interface capabilities endemic to the PC and distributed processing economic explosions.
