This paper presents an overview of the real time system/software methodology approach being deployed within Hughes Aircraft Company. The Hatley-Pirbhai Process for System Development (PSD) was chosen as the training standard for all systems and software engineers in a common engineering method to increase productivity, quality of design, and communications between various engineering disciplines.
